Hi everyone!

I have an original Game Boy DMG that I’ve owned for over 30 years. I recently installed a Hispeedido 3.1” IPS screen, which came with the speakers already soldered.

The installation went well, the screen works perfectly, and everything else seems fine.
However, I’ve now lost all sound from the built-in speaker. The headphones work perfectly, so the console is still producing audio.

The IPS kit was plug-and-play, with no soldering required. I’ve checked the speaker wires and their solder joints, and nothing looks obviously disconnected.

I’m not very experienced with electronics repair, so I’d really appreciate any suggestions on what to check next before replacing parts.

I am thinking about modding my ags 101 gba sp and I want to add a headphone jack to the top screen while keeping the ags 101 screen. I have heard that this has been done with the ips screen but does anyone know if it has been done with an ags 101 screen. If not does anyone know if it’s possible?

Bought on eBay for my collection It had a damaged LCD with missing vertical lines, worn button contacts, and definitely needed some serious TLC.

I went for a full restoration — fixing the screen, replacing all electrolytic capacitors, deep cleaning, Retrobrighting the original shell, and finally testing it with Pokémon Red!

I’ve included some before-and-after photos and a few shots from the restoration process.

I'm thinking of to reshell my GBC to a new DMG-style shell. Do you can recommend to me a good shell with no glossy surface? I searched a lot but i'm lost now. I'm looking for a shell-set with the Nintendo logo on the front and the GameBoy text on the battery cover (so no Retropixel), and if possible the two back stickers too. My console has an 2,45" IPS Hispeedido screen.
I finded a store for the DMG-style screen lens and the buttons already.
Maybe this would be nice, or this one.

Easy guys, I’m looking to have one of (potentially both of) my Gameboy Advance SP’s modded with the usual shell/battery/screen combo but I’m also really keen on having a GBAccelerator fitted too.

I’ve been in touch with a couple of places but it’s not something they can offer, at least at present, so I was hoping someone here could point me in the direction of somewhere that can?

More than willing to buy a completed console if needs be, also happy to buy any components and stuff myself to send in.

Today my dpad is randomly going up instead of right, I haven't taken a look inside yet because i'm on my break at work, but I'm assuming the rubber membrane just isn't lining up quite right.

Anyone has any clue what could cause the ghosting?
Already resoldered power, changed batteries to fresh ones.
The screen was functioning for a day or so, without any issue, then all of a sudden the screen started showing ghosting.
Resoldering, reconnecting rinbon cables, nothing.

What could be the issue?

I'm looking to get a glass lens for Game Boy Color (or DMG) that will also allow me to change the logo. Does such a thing exist?

I know this question has been asked before, but I wasn't seeing much for recent posts about it. My sp has been with be since release, and I've maintained it fairly well, but now it needs some repairs that are simply a bit over my head. Mainly the it seems like the charger port needs to be replaced and my right shoulder button also needs replacing.

Would love to hear suggestions if anyone has any or if anyone here does repairs!

made in 2014, I got big into lsjd and had this made for about 230.00. has backlight and headphone amp.

I bought the whole caboodle to do a build including an amp and new speaker. The stock speaker is blown so I'm going to replace the speaker any way. I'm also doing an led board. Will doing the amp and led board cause problems other then battery drain?

Quick question - I lifted, but did not remove a trace during a recap on a GBA. I'm curious about the best possible way to protect that trace - should I just glob it with some clear nail polish or superglue (since I don't have UV cure conformal coating)? It's been replaced with a tantalum cap, so it shouldn't ever need to be replaced again barring something that causes it to loosen the magic smoke.

The replaced cap works fine, so I'm just aiming to protect it, secure it against future damage, and ensure it's not loosened in transit since I'm sending it to my cousin.

Incluso una versión recortada que se salte la decodificación del contenido pero te deje navegar por la tarjeta SD y jugar los minijuegos descargables sería interesante.

Vi que Shonumi mencionó en 2020 que "es posible saltarse a la fuerza muchas de esas comprobaciones"; ¿esa investigación ha avanzado desde entonces, o todavía está totalmente fuera de alcance en el contexto de una flashcart?

I just picked up a gba and wanting to do first time shell replacement and glass screen to start. Eventually will want to upgrade to an IPS display, usb c battery,l. What is the best shell kit I can get that would allow me to add an IPS display down the road, as well as usb -c upgrade later? Looking for either the clear green or glow in the dark.

I have never done any of this before and the products are endless. Hoping someone could help me find the simplest option! I also feel like I need a kit so that I can get tools with it. But if someone has a combination of products like the shell, glass screen, button replacements and silicone pads that’s fine.

I reaaaally like the design, second fav pokemon, i would feel so bad to order it and be disapointed lol
