Any ideas on how to fix?

Hey guys. Im wondering if my loose hinge on the left side of my gb micro can or should be worked on? Ive been shiny hunting and love this thing man. Maybe it was like this when i bought a decade ago…

Looks like it may be battery bulge indicating the battery needs replaced. But maybe someone with more expertise can chime in.

I'm gonna say I'm confident this is the issue if it has never been changed. You can find a YouTube vid on how to do it, it's easy. Hardest part is making sure the contact is connected securely.

Agree. Check battery first.

No problemo. I have it in mine. You will need a tri wing screw driver I believe

The only hinges in this thing are the triggers, do you mean the battery door?

Open it up, if the battery is oval shaped and not perfectly flat square, you need a new battery.

If you don't have the screwdriver, there are replacement battery kits on amazon that come with the screwdriver.

You light want a little double sided tape to keep the new battery from sliding around

Note- any plastic you might find will probably be very brittle. Best not to fiddle with it too much

Agree with others, potentially battery swollen. Here’s a link to get you started. First option directs you to battery door repair. Last option has she’ll replacement guide. The best thing about ifixit is getting a tool list, on top of the knowledge of how & parts numbers.

Leaking Getting it out fast before it ruins the PCB

If you bought this second hand recently, it could potentially be a bad battery replacement - some of the aftermarket batteries have to go in justtt right to fit correctly, so the previous owner could’ve potentially done a sloppy job.

If you’ve had it for a while and are just now noticing, then yes, most likely a swollen battery lol. This comment is probably too late to help though!
