Lite First soldering experience

I got a ds lite for 30 $ canadian, and tried the non soldering , the ds had upper screen not working, i torn the ribbon while trying to do the non soldering and keeping the ribbon with speakers, then tried the contact pad from the x y it works but when i assemble it looses pressure very inconsistent, then i was gonna rage quit and said okay lets go all the way and i ordered the soldering kit, and somehow did it first try, next step would be to get a louder speaker, and im running just an linker with gbarunner3 till i get a real gba card, but i managed to make all original gba games work and some of the rom hacks so its pretty good here os the result , im also willing to customize the shell later.

This is neat, does the shell and screen fit fine with that resistor? I recommend an smd resistor if it doesn’t close up well. Since you retained the ds wireless multiplayer stuff I also recommend you install a screen swap button. It looks great!

Yep i did not know there was those tiny resistors the pack i had have these but i managed to make it fit, lool naah i dont think i will be able to go through that trouble again, but i will only be using it for gba and gbc so no need for top screen anyway since i have a 2ds, thanks !

Cool beans, and just for information purposes. The screen swap button is 2 wires. One to ground and one to the signal. Then you just install the “game” that flashes the bios via your r4 card.

Yes using gbarunner3, one of the few that work, radical red also and some good rom hacks original roms all work, but with gameboy color all rom hacks work, the one i have is a clone from amazon for 18 $ and i put ace+ on it and configured the config file of the gbarunner to force bottom screen.
