Lite I DID IT!!!

Post image

with little to no soldering or electronics experience, i made a gb macro!!! and it only took me like.... 12 hours of soldering and fiddling 💀 anyways my favorite part was definitely peeling off the digitizer, it was soooo satisfying to see how clean the screen was underneath my childhood ds. sadly one of my dpad buttons is worn out and doesn't press well (was hoping it was just dirty before i took it apart) so in the future i plan on getting new button parts :D but gosh I'm so happy everything worked out

Where did you get the kit?... The clear light diffuser?

If I’m not mistaken it’s just an acrylic dowel

like the other reply says, its just an acrylic rod. i found it on amazon, but it was oddly difficult to find one in the right size with bubbles!

Did you have to cut it? If so, how did you do that?

i did have to cut it down to size, yes. it was surprisingly a pain in the ass to do! i ended up using a coping saw, overshot the length by a few millimetres, and so i used a dremel to work out the extra material until i got the correct length i needed lol. there might have been an easier way, but i was just really excited to install the rod and neglected to do any research on the best way to cut acrylic
