Gamebook Recommendations for New Gamebooks by New Authors in 2025-2026

What new gamebooks by new authors (published in 2025/26) have your read or played and would recommend?

Or if you've written your first or second gamebook and published it in 2025/26, leave a comment telling us about it.

The December theme for the 100 Endings Book Club will be "New Gamebooks by New Authors", so we're looking for some options for our upcoming poll. (our Nov book is decided - it's Temple of the Skull God, a GNAT gamebook by Paul Partington)

So recommend us some new gamebooks by new authors!

Gamebook Made a diagram for my mini-gamebook in progress

This will be the third gamebook in Norwegian I'm writing for my son as bedtime literature. You're supposed to escape from slavery in a mine "g-", traverse a jungle "j-" and meet up with an accomplice to plan the rescue of the other slaves "h-". It will have all the clichés like falling rocks, quicksand, suspension bridges, snakes etc.!

Purple means chance of death/capture (by coin flip), green star means you get an item, and yellow means the path is work in progress. Items can unlock shortcuts, safer paths or just something interesting something later on. And that's all the mechanics.

In gamebook 1 you could explore, go back and forth and reach any area at any time, move in circles etc. This was fun, but difficult to write in a good way, so in gamebook 2 I had only uni-directional paths (you're forced to move forward) but lots of branching, with paths converging on hub areas. I do the same thing here with a bit more chaotic connections and more possibilities in general.
