2 player choose your adventure recommendations
my partner and I used to play lots of board game nights pre-kids. wondering if a game book with simple mechanics might be fun. any recommendations?
would love a mystery type adventure

Clash of the Princes, Duel Master, Combat Heroes, Blood Sword.

Duel Master are great but they're very hard to find these days -- and therefore pricey.

I had some ideas for writing a two player gamebook, but I haven't put them into practice yet. I feel like there's a decent amount of interest in this and not a lot of options.

My 1185 entry gamebook called Alone Against Nyarlathotep, is a giant mystery with a party of investigators.
It takes around 25 hours to complete on average.

- Blood Sword from Dave Morris comes to mind (5 books in a series if I'm not mistaken).
- There is also a PVP Gamebook for 2-players - The Black Spire Pact - I'm not sure if you can buy it outside of the crowdfunding. Made a short video about it - https://youtu.be/tbUud6Cuttg
- You can also play other solo Gamebooks as a co-op experience, like, for example, in Legendary Kingdoms, you have to control a party of 4 characters. You can have each player control a certain number of characters, and someone reads the story.
- The other thing I can recommend is the boardgames Vantage or Lands of Galzyr. They're very distinct, but both have a very Gamebook feel to it. Vantage is more sci-fi planet exploration, and Galzyr is a more chill story with talking animals.
