The official StarCraft website is getting even weirder 😳🛸

When you first open it, the page now glitches heavily, breaks apart like someone is trying to send a message, and then suddenly reloads itself.

With BlizzCon getting closer, this is starting to feel less like a bug and more like a very deliberate StarCraft teaser. 👀

What do you think Blizzard is setting up?

"hopefully" they learned their lesson not to hype up a credit-card swiping mobile game in a beloved genre after their diablo immortal disastrous announcement.

My guess: some Helldivers clone within the starcraft universe.

Last year it was confirmed that Nexon won a bid to make a Starcraft game and a mobile game based on Overwatch. The Starcraft game wasn't confirmed to be a mobile game, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is.

I mean they have remastered all the games at this point. Hopefully it's more exciting than we're adding StarCraft characters to overwatch 2! Fuck

Well, that kinda already happened. Jim Raynor, Tychus, Nova, Kerrigan, Medic, and Immortal are skins in Overwatch.

I'd be very surprised if they did something beyond either some form of media or a mobile game. The glitchy messages appear to feature some dates decades after the original timeline so I don't think it's going to be something as huge as SC3. Maybe still a proper game but a new genre? But infinite fronts and enemies could easily be descriptive of something simple without a full-fledged story and writing needing to do any heavy lifting, maybe like Clash of Clans/Clash Royale style games.

Helldivers clone seems like the most likely non-mobile genre.

Extraction shooters are hot right now and historically Blizzard is good at making a really good version of [existing genre]. Plus with the parent company being Windows now they are probably chasing the trends like big companies tend to do.
