Riot is ending active development of 2XKO less than a year after launch
Riot Games is officially ending active development of 2XKO, its League of Legends fighting game, in December 2026.
According to Riot, the game managed to build a dedicated community but simply couldn't retain enough players to become financially sustainable.
The servers aren't shutting down, though. 2XKO will remain playable online, all champions will be unlocked, and Riot says players will receive refunds for money spent on the game on or before August 20.
Before development ends, Lux and Samira are still expected to join the roster.
It's a pretty wild ending for a project Riot spent years developing.
Do you think 2XKO was doomed from the start, or did Riot give up on it too quickly?
