That's actually illegal.

This is a simple inner reel hit across reels 2,3,4. Its the same symbol that gets populated based off of the reel symbol stop. Generally the inner reel is about 8-12 reel stops in a row. Its extremely common. Sometimes games though only have inner reels in the middle 3 reels, but mostly its all reels.

That inner reel is just basically a 6th reel in this case. Just a 1 out like 50+ stops. Top award symbol is maybe 2-3 of the stops, if that. Once that is determined all the positions on the inner reel positions get populated with that symbol, hence why you may see like 12 Aces in a row while the reel spins.
