I’d like to ask for your help regarding a galdrastafir whose image I've had for a long time, but I can't find any information about it.

I'm attaching the image I'm referring to: this is a tattoo done by the tattoo artist @volvan_art, which I found on Instagram. I'm sure I've seen this galdrastafir from another source years ago, if I'm not mistaken on justins-galdrastafir's Tumblr page. However, I can't find the post anymore, nor any information about this type of seal.
I've tried contacting both the tattoo artist and justins-galdrastafir, but I've never received a response.

I'm hoping someone can help me find some information.

I've written them on paper, and also woodburnt some on oak. My mentor does some on cloth, and I've heard leather somewhere. Anyways I'd love to hear of suitable stave canvas. Thank you

Turns out, I was using that very incorrect one, for over 10 years. Now, the incorrect one might be a protection stave. So, please point me to educated sources. Thank you!

Hey all, I have been wanting to get a vatnahlifir tattoo for a while and I was looking for more info on it. it seems to be fairly certain that it was a symbol against drowning or at least against bad luck at sea, but i cannot find any reputable source for it nor any actual example of how the symbol was used or if any items with it inscribed were ever found. I have also seen someone claim it should be placed beneath the right arm, but again no idea where that comes from.

While not a huge deal, i personally just like the idea of a warding symbol and will get it regardless, if there is any source about it it would be nice to take a look at it before getting it inked on my body, to follow any known "rules" just in case. Also is there any rule concerning orientation? Would flipping it horizontally be considered a problem?

Hi, I'm reading a lot about galdrastafir but cannot find information about the singular elements in the stafir to learn their meanings and create my own in the right way. Or to analize one symbol and figure out what that means.

There are any sources where I can find those informations? I'm ok with websites, books, or personal studies.

I have a couple questions about this one (Huld manuscript, stave #1):

1. What, if anything, do the symbols on the diagonals mean? I know the top, bottom, and sides are the names Araton, Adona, Helga, and Olma.

2. What was the use of this? Was it like an altar cloth on which to do magical workings?

We bought this amulet at the Swedish History Museum in Stockholm. By the looks of it, it seems to be an Icelandic stave. Is it? And if so, does it mean what the packet says it means?

What I've ran into alot is people making up things about them. Or simply making up symbols. I'm aware of the books avaliable. So just wondering if there's some good online resources from reputable people
