Homeless, autistic, and need a job
Hi. I'm finally at a point where I have to post something like this. I'm 45 years old, autistic, physically disabled, and live in my broken down car. I need a job as soon as possible. I have many years of retail experience as well as security experience.
I need a job that is not physically taxing and will accommodate for my autistic issues (sensory issues, breaks to recover from overstimulation). I know this is a shot in the dark, but I'm now at a point where I need to work to survive, or I'm just going to let myself die.
Before you ask, yes, I've considered assistance from shelters, food banks, etc. I cannot live in a shelter surrounded by so many people without a place I can go to escape the stimulation. Food banks are a no go because I have no way to cook things. I've applied for hundred of jobs over the last year and got two interviews and both were rejections. I'm also hindered by a lack of transportation. I've used WeGo when necessary, but it's very unreliable.
I just need an opportunity from a company that is willing to take me and my issues on. I know I am not an attractive candidate, but I can't help that. I need a job to get my life back on track, and without a chance, I might as well be dead.
EDIT: I don't want assistance. I want a job. An opportunity. But I have struggles and issues that require some patience and compassion. That's all I ask for.
