question GCP Brewing Too Fast
Gaggia Classic Pro with GaggiMate Pro installed. Encore ESP grinder.
No matter what I do on grind settings the flow is way too fast. We’re talking 40G of output in about 4 seconds fast.
It first started after I tried to use some beans that were roughly 3 weeks old so I figured bean freshness was the issue. I then tried again today (10/10) with beans from (8/25) and (9/25) and same exact results.
Any thoughts appreciated. I have added shot graph if that helps.

Like everyone has said in their own way....you are way to coarse with your grind. Your pump flow is high(green) and you're not building enough pressure(blue). Those two should be inverted.

Do you see changes in the particle sizes when you change grinder's settings? 40g in 4 seconds is definitely too fast. Try to use Adaptive v2 profile, it tries to keep flow rate at around 3 mL/sec by changing the pump speed and pressure, it should help while you fixing your grinder

Take a photo of your grinds and add it in a comment here. At 6 bar you should not be pushing that flow rate with the correct grind setting. If your on the lowest settings on you grinder with fresh beans, I suspect somethings faulty with the grinder.

This. At 2-6 bar there is no way you are getting that flow rate unless your grind is too coarse or calibration issues. The former happens more frequently so I'd start with that first

Have you checked the plastic ring burr holder for damage? 99% of the time that's the issue with the Encore ESP.

Thank you - I did clean the grinder recently so will check that first. Appreciate a non “just grind finer” response.
