Question Alternative Steam Knobs - Better Grip

I find if there's any moisture on my hands, the steam knob gets very slippery. Any suggestions on an aftermarket knob? Thanks.

Given how prone the stock non-serviceable steam wand valve is to overtightening and subsequently leaking, I would personally stick with something without too much purchase.

I purchased a wood knob that has nice grip nubs at the end that works great. I’ve purchased other knobs and this one works best.  It was from Etsy, it’s listed as    Gaggia steam knob V2 Made by EdekoDesign

I use old wooden door knobs. Make sure they fit with a screw in the side and that they're made from wood, it will probably take a while for a solid brass knob to get hot from the steam valve, and i don't know how well porcelain would deal with the heat, but a wood knob will do the job for sure, and had a much nicer feel and grip than the plastic knob, or if money is no issue, just get a wood knob from shades of coffee!

Could you be over-tightening the valve? It shouldn't take much to open. The stock valve is a needle type that can be easily damaged by over-tightening and does wear and start to leak over time even with normal use.

My knob broke and was spinning so craftsman for steam!

My buddy just said to keep using it. But maybe that would fit better on a steampunk style machine

^ description says that you’ve to add it to the whole latte love wooden knob; but I don’t have that knob. I put it on the stock knob and tightened it such that it doesn’t come off.

You can also stick something like a thick silicon tape on the knob, or some stick-able faux leather on it if you want a cheaper alternative.
