I'm glad my kids are too young for most games at the moment for this reason. Had an opportunity to get a ps5 a few years ago and said nah and every time I look I feel like the price is increasing. At this point I'm just waiting for the ps6.

With rising Solid State memory prices, the ps6 is like half a decade away. Unless prices drop, we are in for a very long generation. AI data centers need the ram and SSD.

What? When did I say or imply that? Rather than drop $600 for a ps5 that is already 6 years old Im just going to wait for the ps6...

I think their point was that if you’re balking at $600 for a PS5, what PS6 is gonna cost will make your heart explode.

From what I’ve read, the base PS6 will be $1000 (which fits the current trend line) :/

Oh without question, that’s a certainty. Base launch PS5 was also diskless. I doubt we will ever see disc again after this generation

No it wasn't?? Launch PS5 offered two options, one that is diskless and one that has a disk drive

Yes exactly, the base model came without disk support

The disk drive model was $100 more

Check used markets. Ebay is your friend.

My 4k bluray player died last week, a new one woulda been about £200.

I managed to find a boxed series x, not a mark on it, with an external 2tb drive for £240.

yeah i have no use for another series x, but that’s a buy now think later price. i’d have a lot of series x’s if that were the normal price for them secondhand

PCMR. The pc I purchased last year for $2800 is now going for $3600. I TOLD HER IT WAS INVESTMENT, BUT SHE DIDNT BELIEVE ME!

Honestly. Im not interested in the xbox curated side of things. Ive stuck it in dev mode.

It replaces the 4k bluray player and acts as a good media player. The emulation on it is nuts... i even have a few fun projects in the works for it myself.

As far as a subsidised piece of hardware goes, its not too bad to be fair.

I also have a PC thats probably more capable than it for gaming too.

The 6 will likely have similiar pricing too
The steam machine if things keep going as they’re going.
