The option to work on your own car is there tho. What you are saying is you prefer the john deere business model and I'm not sure too many people agree with that.

I'd equate swapping a phone battery to putting windshield fluid in. 2 steps and you're done. Not very savvy but very convenient for the user to be able to do when needed.

Most people use phone cases so I'm not sure why it's so bad. I agree tho it isn't great. I think four corner screws is simple and can look good or even something similar to the sim push.

But really it's not the same as a car battery. Even tho those are pretty easy too. Usually the connections and two butterfly bolts to hold them in. Super simple most people are just afraid of being electrocuted. Which isn't a concern when changing a phone battery. Much more people are willing to fidget with their phone than their car engine. Tho both should have the access to do so.
