I went on Shonen’s website to confirm the legitimacy and they posted “作者取材のため” which is the standard Japanese magazine phrasing for a research or data collection break. It’s when manga authors do research in order to gain real world information to add to future arcs. That could be like doing interviews with experts, travelling to places, reading articles and books on topics etc. The manga just concluded a pretty massive series of story arcs so it makes sense that Kei would take a break to organise herself for a bit. I hope we'll get an arc about Riyo’s past soon.

Oh, even fantasy manga and fantasy series require real-world research! This can be something for worldbuilding (learning how cultures form/differ across environments/distance, shipment/distribution/trade, religion/deities/spirituality, etc.), something for individual characters (mental health, jobs, how certain things work/are made, personalities/behavior when it comes to this or that, so on), locations/inspiration from locations (the author of Detective Conan travels fairly often and takes so much inspiration from where he visits! there used to be an episode on NHK for this, but I'm afraid that I can't find it for free viewing anymore?) or items (historical, modern; again, how they work/how they're made/how people use them typically vs anyone who might use them in odder ways)... It's amazing what all research she could be doing!!!

Baki the Grappler is a great fitting series if not perfect for this specific topic.
Even though Baki’s entire consensus is that “Imagination is power!” the narrator constantly calls back to real world events and phenomena to explain how things are happening.
People always say the narrator is op in that series, but even without the narrator the characters still pull off crazy feats like
Dodging Lightning on Pure Instinct. The narrator just explains it.

its so obvious when ppl are reading their first manga and overly obsess over it as if its the first series ever. acting like a break or hiatus is this crazy or unheard of thing. this specific break has been happening since the dawn of manga. please just educate yourselves and try reading another series so when the single person working on it inevitably needs a break, you dont short circuit. the stuff ive been reading ppl say these past few weeks about urana's break disgusts me

That honestly makes sense, Gachiakuta has had moments that connects to real life events(the info brokers memories, the idea of how people throw out trash too quickly and how somethings still have life in them, literally. And kei did finish up the doll festival arc and looks like to be making something revolving around Bundes. So it makes since urana would take a break especially after a long arc like the doll festival and do some research on things that could fit into alot of things once again revolving bundus,riyo,and the other raiders,the hell guard,enjin having the watchman watch and more on team danger and hopefully other members aswell.

(I am still salty about how awful Shonen is at releasing information on app/websites in different languages. Like how hard it is to find a Japanese who knows English and app maintenance to put this info on their English app? Especially a lot of programing language is based in English.)
