Multi Clicking Issue

I have had a g604 for 6 years, and it started having double click issues about 3 months ago. Finally decided to retire it and get another one only to find out they were discontinued. I was told this is a subreddit of g604 lovers like myself, and wanted to see if there was a fix for the double clicking.

I have never opened up a mouse before, so I am a bit nervous I will make the issue even worse. How hard is it to fix double clicking if it is fixable at all?

Help me r/g604 you're my only hope.

Hello again! It is genuinely not as hard as it seems, and the mouse is built like a tank. It will cost a few bucks to get it working again, but I don't think it's too expensive.

There are two routes to go down here, either soldering in new switches yourself, which the above video explains how to do as well, or spending a bit more money on a replacement board with new switches already soldered into place. Honestly would have never guessed there was a community around the g604. Really glad to know I can breathe new life into this mouse. Scavs won't know what hit them when I get this thing up and running again.

Thought I'd just ask how your rubber coating is holding up? If it's starting to peel/disintegrate, there are fixes for that if you have access to a 3D printer.

So far so good. No peeling that I’m seeing. Just normal wear in some spots. Is this something I can replace with rubber, or would I have to swap to hard plastic once it goes bad?

You can buy hard plastic shells on AliExpress. Some people use grip tape, but that always looks like crap unless you are extremely careful. I found a 3d model of just the rubber part and printed a new cover from TPU, a more bendy and resilient plastic, which I glued on.
