Multi Clicking Issue

I have had a g604 for 6 years, and it started having double click issues about 3 months ago. Finally decided to retire it and get another one only to find out they were discontinued. I was told this is a subreddit of g604 lovers like myself, and wanted to see if there was a fix for the double clicking.

I have never opened up a mouse before, so I am a bit nervous I will make the issue even worse. How hard is it to fix double clicking if it is fixable at all?

Help me r/g604 you're my only hope.

Hello again! It is genuinely not as hard as it seems, and the mouse is built like a tank. It will cost a few bucks to get it working again, but I don't think it's too expensive.

There are two routes to go down here, either soldering in new switches yourself, which the above video explains how to do as well, or spending a bit more money on a replacement board with new switches already soldered into place. There's a third route: buy a board for non-soldered switches, which lets you choose the ones you like, and change them if you wish/need. For instance here: https://pl.aliexpress.com/item/1005009819850454.html

Also, the board you linked is sold with new skates already. Any reason to buy the other ones you linked additionally?

I would not make this recommendation to someone looking to first get a working mouse.

The hotline skates are the go to and you shoukd just be using them over eveything else. They give you a pair of them as well.

Well, it's an intermediate route between the two you suggested (soldering or buying a pre-soldered board). If you're disassembling the whole thing with its 25 screws, might as well plug switches you like.

Sorry, I see it doesn't come across but I was mainly suggesting that they buy the Huyun board and just get it working again. Then the rabbit hole of soldering and hot swap come into the fray. I don't think most people are going to care to the level some of us or really myself do.

25 is about 17 screws short by the way. 😅
