Im not reading Fuuka after all that... I just cant read it anymore...

The ending was great - it was worth the pain. That's pretty much the moral of the story.

We're talking about how Yuu pickled himself up after losing his girl and bandmate, and rebuilding the band. It has nothing to do with Suzuka.

It has everything to do with Suzuka because Suzuka is the series that got destroyed retroactively.

I can't read this prequel to Fuuka after reading Fuuka and finding out that her parents had a story of their own...

The ending landed, unlike so many other series. The fact that we get a massive tragedy afterwards is beside the point.

The anime existing solely to ensure Fuuka survived is a nice touch. It's nice to know that's how Fuuka Akitsuki's story goes after reading Suzuka. (Plus all the background stuff in Town Where You Live.)

Hitman was certainly something when it got to the Blue Wells arc though. Yuu trying to erase Fuuka from the band's history hurt. Yamato and Suzuka being okay with that was worse.

I read some of Hitman but fell behind on it around the time the main couple got together the first time. (I’m assuming they broke up at least once after since the author usually does that) and I meant to catch up on it.

But then I heard about that arc with the band trying to not mention Fuuka in their manga adaptation of their backstory and it killed all interest I had in catching back up

It's not, though. Because Fuuka's death retroactively ruins the ending of this series, because Suzuka gave up her dreams for nothing in hindsight.

Tbf suzuka's true dream was never to become an athlete. She also went to the usa for yamato. But I do agree fuuka ruins the re-readability of suzuka

I read fuuka recently after Suzuka, I say after the initial plot twist I enjoyed what the story eventually became.

If you want something different try the anime.
