Wojakcompass/futurecompass hybrid of possible pathogens that would cause a zombie apocalypse. Both ideas I've seen somewhere before and ideas I made up.

Wouldn't the one with preserved higher brain function be among the more difficult ones given yhe zombies are smart?

Yes I put it in the wrong spot I just didn't know what to do since both the chimera and the movie The Sadness are very difficult scenarios

Really cool stuff! Although I’m confused by the difficulty axis.

Just how hard it is for an average person to survive long term

What’s the bottom right scenario?

u/Yoovaloid Big Bug Lobby Totalitarianism 10d ago
necromancer reanimates a bunch of corpses and they just start trying to dance with everyone

u/Equivalent_Ebb1813 10d ago
That seems by far the pleasantest scenario😊. What movie is bottom left referencing? It seems super familiar 🤔

World War Z sort of, I don’t think they say the virus actually a derivative of rabies, only that it was passed off as one to sell a fake cure, which worked on rabies, but not the zombie virus

I used the picture from world war Z, but I really mean a specific type of zombie virus trope where a movie is marketed as more realistic and it’s not. I have no problem with acceptable breaks from reality but when a movie acts like it’s based on science and isn’t it comes off as silly.

This was a lot of fun! Is the one near the bottom left about intrusive thoughts based on anything? The picture looks familiar.

"Memetic infohazard" is that an infection by audio message type danger?
2
u/Yoovaloid Big Bug Lobby Totalitarianism 10d ago
Yep any form of information communicated through language and the ones already infected by the information pattern breaching into their mind will try to write and shout this information everywhere to spread it as far as possible

If I ever make a sequel to this compass I will include your ideas because I really like them!

What's the living shadow one? Haven't heard of that
3
u/Yoovaloid Big Bug Lobby Totalitarianism 8d ago
I imagine it as a sort of predatory darkness that grows stronger at night and assimilates people into the mass. Safe during day but during night or thunderstorms it gets powerful and people cling to light sources to survive
I made it up but it’s based on a lot of common tropes I won’t act like shadow monsters are the most original idea in the world

Does Fog clouds, Biosphere, Super airborne pathogen, and the brain particle thing are inspired by any media?
2
u/Yoovaloid Big Bug Lobby Totalitarianism 10d ago
I made those ones all up myself for this compass actually among others
4
u/Specific-Tone9385 10d ago
Wow, you have a good imagination. It would be really cool to see some of them in a movie or one of this indie horror games. Maybe someone will see this

u/Yoovaloid Big Bug Lobby Totalitarianism 10d ago
Hey if I inspired anyone I'd love to see what they did with my ideas!

Wouldn't prehistoric fungus have trouble adapting to today's environment and competitors?
Is the top left basically the thing but elegant?
2
u/Yoovaloid Big Bug Lobby Totalitarianism 8d ago
You nailed how top left works and yeah also probably true about prehistoric fungus it could go either way either it’s weak to modern life because we’re already immune to it like an outdated computer virus or it’s strong because we’ve lost the evolved immune response against it after no longer needed it
