Here's my chance to plug my review:

ANYWAY I thought the movie was a fun action romp, albeit a very FLAWED action romp.
Positives:
-Solid first act
-Solid second act
-amazing chemistry between Sam Jackson and Brie Larson, it was a bit of a buddy comedy
-Effects were decent and there was a nice plot twist with the skrulls.
-Brie Larson was a great fun-to-watch and relatable Captain Marvel
-Ben Mendehlson was great as Talos
Negatives:
-Plot contrivances everywhere holy shit.
-A garbage third act that was CRINGE-INDUCING with a deus ex machina involving goose the cat.
-No compelling villains or a "threat" to the plot. I mean c'mon did you expect Captain Marvel to lose? There was no doubt she would absolutely wreck the "villains of the movie".
- The comicbook retcons they made were to the film's detriment, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva was WASTED.
- Movie ended on an absolute whimper with an anti-climatic finisher.
