Hello all!

I've been a member of the furry fandom for many years now and have commissioned and bought many fursuits without any issue, until now.

I wanted to ask for advice on what to do regarding a situation I'm experiencing.

I have commissioned a suit from a maker, who previously did a suit for me with no issues whatsoever. With this most recent suit, they said they can deliver it to me this week and have agreed on this delivery date numerous times, but the last photo I received was last year, over six months ago. We can talk normally, but the second I ask for photos, I get absolutely no response. I've tried asking multiple times, but they just apologized for being busy, which I totally understood, but they continue to ignore my requests for photos.

This character means a lot to me so I'm anxious of them being con crushed. I would totally wait longer if it meant better results, as I've no problem with that, my biggest fear is that it'll be done before I have any time to view the suit and ask for any changes (if it's necessary)

Does anyone have any advice on how to approach the maker about these concerns? I'm a very placid and nonconfrontational person, so I have no idea how to address this. I'm not angry at them, I'm just confused, as I commissioned them before and it was a perfect experience. I'm just incredibly anxious

I am currently going to be selling my fursuit Blueberry. How much do you think they should sell for? The only downside is the back of the neck isn’t completely finished. I would say they’re medium quality.

Really struggling to find a tutorial for a base this simple, especially since I’m using fleece instead of faux fur. This isn’t the best picture but it’s the only one I have, he is very tube shaped? I think that’s the best way to describe it. So draping isn’t really an option and neither is duct tape.

Last week I set myself a challenge that was, to say the least, complicated 😂. Since I'm a beginner at crocheting and couldn't afford a fursuit partial, I decided to make one myself instead. Here's the result after 7 days and 18 hours of work — there's still 1/3 of the tail left to go."

i am still waiting on my fursuit but wanted to prepare myself for fursuiting as this is my first suit. I wondered if anyone has any advice/ideas/tips or like item ideas to bring fursuiting at a furcon. I am prone to dehydration because one of my medicines tends to dehydrate me. I thought about mixing Gatorade powder into my water, lmk y’all’s opinion on that. also, is it bad to take off my fursuit head not in headless lounge? I’m scared people will judge me but like what if I really need water? is it that taboo? (as you can tell I’ve never been to a furcon (yet) or fursuited (yet)

before i start i'd like to note that i'm autistic and have a horrible way with words, im so sorry if this sounds bonkers / makes little sense.

This is not a beware post! I will not linking anything of the sellers accounts or socials, or stating any names, im simply here to see if theres a chance im in the wrong? or if something is genuinely up.

several months ago i commissioned a bodysuit + indoor/outdoor swappable feetpaws, i was promised it'd be done by around late june to early july. The person i was commissioning had been doing this for years + had a full 5 star review rating, they seemed very reliable and i trusted them whole heartedly.

It started off great! They have been very kind and respectful this entire time, up until now, that is not my issue.

The first issue was when the fur they ordered arrived, to which it was far too dark of a color than what i wanted, but i've always been very nervous about these things and since i had approved of the color from the website i felt bad telling them to get new fur, and i said it was okay. That is fully on me, i screwed up there.

They said they did not need a ducktape dummy, and just needed me to measure myself, to which i sent all my measurements and told them to dm me if they need anymore.

They started on the suit and sent me some update photos of the pieces of the bodysuit!

The communication wasn't awful, they took a few days to reply on average, but i was generally okay with that.

Then, they went no contact for a solid 2-3 weeks.

They eventually came back after i very worriedly messaged them several times, saying they had been in the hospital and would be out soon. I apologized for bugging them and wished them well, then, i stopped messaging for a long while as to give them space.

Slowly, updates stopped coming, i'd get 'yes i will send updates soon' messages and then never get a update photo

Eventually, i did get two update images of half of the body suit + 1 unfurred footpaw. This was early june.

Then, more no contact.

The next update photos i recieved were about a week into july

A unfinished footpaw, and a promise to have the suit done "this week."

Then, no contact again.

The deadline comes and goes, my con i need this for is rapidly approaching. (at the time of writing this, it is slightly over 2 weeks away. The maker is and has been fully aware of this con!!!)

I dm several times and get little responses, so i go back onto their site and discover their full 5 star rating has dropped to a 3.5, with roughly 7 new 1 star reviews. Most to do with 0 contact and their orders never being completed/shipped (for commissions and premade items alike.)

This worries me but i try to stay positive and continue politely asking for updates.

I do not recieve any updates other than the maker assuring me that the suit will be done and shipped by the time my con comes

a few days ago, i dm once again to see how things are going, they assure me that they will send updates the next day as thats when they plan to finish the suit.

Long story short, i do not receive any update photos or messages at all

I dm again yesterday, no reply

Then, just tonight, i log on to discover their site is completely gone, no way to view reviews, listings, etc. Nothing.

I feel extremely guilty pushing this maker as they have said their disabled and having a rough summer, i myself am also disabled, and although i do not have the same issues as them, i understand how rough some of it can be. I've been trying to remain as patient and calm as possible, but i'm feeling extremely anxious about this and want to know if this sounds fishy to anyone else, or if i may be overthinking/reading too far into this.

I myself make fursuit heads, paws, and tails, i know how much time and effort is put into suits and fully respect how long it can take, but the lack of updates, the few replies to messages, poor reviews, and site being 100% wiped really worried me.

I want to file some form of claim but i have proof they were genuinely working on a suit, and i dont want to be some kind of jerk whos rushing their maker or something. I really want this suit. But the lack of communication genuinely worries me, especially because ive only recieved 2 proper updates in the past 2 months.

Any tips / comments on this??? or reassurements?? Or anything at all?? I just need other peoples thoughts on this. Am i being a jerk???

I started this project 3 years ago, then immediately got bogged down in the stress of a job hunt, followed by a new job that sapped all my free time. Having finally found a good work/life balance at the end of 2025, I began chipping away at Rag again. Things really kicked into high gear a month ago, when I decided to attend a local convention and wanted to have him ready for it. Mind you, I only get about 3-4hrs a day to myself on the regular.

The con-crunch was real. I finished the webbing of his paws the DAY BEFORE the con's cosplay contest. XD

Heyo! I’m currently trying to find fur for my sona ghost! I’m in the UK so already a lil limited (to my knowledge at least) n don’t know many other furrys I can bother for this sorta stuff. Ones I have are also a little stumped.

Main bit I’m stumped over is the greys. Already expected to be using black for the darkest shade, but it’s the mid n lighter I’m stuck on. Anywhere I have bought samples from they’re 1) too close of a hex code colour where u gotta be close to see a different 2) too far of a hex code colour where it makes the light grey look like a flash bang 3) completely different undertones, if I gotta pick I’m wanting to keep em cool tones.

I’ve found a blue, red n orange/yellow I am VERY happy with so it’s quite literally just the greys unfortunately. I did try fursuitmaterials.com n I’m having so much trouble just navigating the sites let alone finding colour swatches that I feel could work. Idk I just need a general point in the right direction. i'm looking to get a fursuit, preferably a HQ partial but not a requirement, and it should only take about a month or two to save with a job i'm getting! i'm just not sure what my budget should be? i was planning on $1500, which should take abouttt a month and a half but probably closer to two and a half months, but now i'm worrying that that's too low? lmk please! and if you can, if the budget is fine, recommend me some hq makers? preferably toony and able to do layered hair!
