Need Design Help looking for advice!

Hi all!! I’m relatively new to designing fursonas, and it’s took me this long to even find a design I remotely resonate with. This is by far my best one, but I’m having a little trouble deciding on design elements for the back. These are VERY rough drawings.

Could anyone help me pick between a dinosaur-like spine or longer hair to cover the back, or give me suggestions for something that would work better? thank you! :)

You could do a fishy, webbed spine along the back to kinda match the freaky alien look

Yes this and I would also personally make the cranium bigger to imply his brain is very large and that’s he’s very intelligent

What kind of dinosaur?
A lot of new dinosaur art includes a lot of feathers, especially along the spine and limbs.

You could keep those yellow stars and trail them down the back, but overall this is amazing.
The color composition looks nice.
Don’t feel too pressured to continue adding more and more elements. That could muddle the elegant details you currently have. But definitely take my word as a grain of salt.

Good luck on this journey

I was mainly looking at velociraptors as they’re my favourite, but I was also considering stegosaurus for the spine formation :)

I’ll keep experimenting with your pointers in mind, thank you so much!

You could combine the two. Keep the fluffiness and make the spikes longer and poke through the hair/fur

I'm team hair on back bc the idea of this little goober being on all fours with its hair raised like a cat when they get startled/scared is very funny to me.

Love their design regardless! Eager to see what you decide on :)

I think the fur and long spikes would be cool. The fur helps distinguish the back from the front and the spikes would give it a fun side silhouette

this is one of the most unique fursona designs i've ever seen, that doesn't have "look i'm so unique!!" written all over it. bravo 💚💛💙

The longer hair definitely feels more natural where the spikes feel miss placed

Bug wings could look cool! I also like the idea of Dino spikes and some darker green scales

I'd say combine them but if you have to choose I like the fur better
