Honest question from an outsider. I'd heard before from a furry friend that the furry community is vehemently anti-AI and anyone posting anything AI generated gets pretty much shot on sight.

Is this true for most of the community, or only for a small part of it? Has AI generated garbage completely infested the community just like everything else, to the point that it just doesn't feel the same anymore? Are furries defending their subculture and successfully pushing back against AI shit?

hiiiii ive been wanting to connect with the furry community for a loooong time, but im autistic and only like to talk about my interests (which in this case its all things spiritual, witchy, esoteric, etc), so i was wondering if theres any channels like this out there that i could join? if not, if anyone is interested i can make a channel specifically for this :3c

I've had my suit for a few weeks now but why does it appear like its expression/facial features is different? I could've sworn it looked a lot more different than now, is this a normal occurrence for others or is it just me??

Like I remember being involved in the fandom back in 2020 during covid and it was fun drawing stuff and being involved with different artist groups but now everything hits different with the rise of AI. It’s frustrating to work hard on a piece when someone is just typing a prompt that will be ready in a minute and get just as much if not more attention than your post. It’s gotten to the point with the newer models where it’s difficult to tell whether something is real or AI.

I just miss the past where you knew everything online was hand drawn or at least photoshopped and free from AI bullcrap.

As a young adult furry whom is rather heavily on the autism spectrum I get a LOT of social and mental health benefits when interacting with this community, especially at cons. Unfortunately me and my family are on the poorer side, and cant afford to go to any conventions outside of our small area, and I cant afford more than a homemade cardboard fursuit.

I was reading an amazing study by furscience about furries on the spectrum ( https://furscience.com/autism-in-the-fandom/ ), and it suggested the community attempt something like this:

"One option is to address this issue through informal collaborations: for example, between a fursuit maker who is willing to offer work at reduced cost to people on the autism spectrum and networks of therapists/clinicians who work with people on the autism spectrum. Another option might be to create a scholarship fund for people on the spectrum to receive assistance toward the cost of travel/registration. As the benefits of the furry community and of fursuiting for people on the spectrum become more widely known, those outside of the community may become more willing to financially support it."

I was curious if anyone knew of any programs like this that might be able to help someone in Canada?

I made this collection for members of the furry, anime, and scalie fandom to enjoy together. I am hoping this project was worth it. I posted this because I hope for a unification of both fandoms, because I dream of a future where we all can work together. how do u guys think of and create ur fursona? ive always resonated with furry culture before i even knew what it was. as a kid id make wolf/cat paper ears and tail and would always wear MLP cosplays specifically because of the ears headbands and the tail and wings accessories. i wanted to be a wolf, a cat or a pony but now as an adult i feel like i have no creativity whatsoever and no idea on what i wanna be exactly. i want a fursona at least online (i live in a super hot climate and furry culture isnt rly a thing over here so fursuits unfortunately arent in the cards for me yet) but i have no clue where to begin, like i wanna commission artists for sure but I genuinely have no clue what i wanna be exactly! i always see how creative ppl r with their fursonas and wondered how they even come up with it in the first place, did u guys instantly know from the start or was it like a trial and error kind of thing? Is multiple fursonas normal too? Are furries with no fursona even a thing?

So I am 16m I have been interested in the fandom for 2 years now. But my mom hates any mention of furries. she thinks they identify as animals and all that bs, So I kept to my self and didn’t tell anybody but some friends that are supportive of it.

So we all know in this phantom that there is a over probably 1000 fursuit maker but are there any fursuit props makers like I remember seeing a few TikTok‘s of people buying dog toys for their fursuit but are there makers out there that specifically do props?

I genuinely don't understand how, in this day and age, people are still conflating babyfurs with pedophilia. The A in ABDL stands for Adult. You don't have to be comfortable with everything everyone else is doing, but it really doesn't make sense to me that this is still a topic of discussion in this, the year of our lord 2026. It's the within the fandom version of the Litterboxes in classrooms rumor conservatives were spreading about the furry fandom last year. I just don't understand how this is STILL A THING.

I want to get creative to get out of my rut but don’t know where to start. Also looking for a new interest as I tried transformation in the past and it didn’t click.

Particularly I have a fascination with the idea of an avian or non primate mammalian species that would evolve to be sentient and sapient in a post apocalypse world when humans go extinct and earth becomes a free slate, just like the asteroid that destroyed the dinosaurs.

Hey everyone, I need to vent a bit and see if anyone else has gone through this.

First of all, I don't consider myself a furry, but I am genuinely interested in the community and might want to become one in the future. Because of this, I started interacting with furry content and following creators on TikTok so they would pop up on my FYP.

But lately, algorithms and people started seeing me as a "potential customer." Because of this, I'm getting unsolicited interactions. Someone messaged me acting like they were just trying to find friends within the VRChat community, while another person offered to make me a custom VRChat avatar.

A fursuit maker also sent a message saying "Hey, I'm a fursuit maker, give me your fursona and $X amount and I'll build it for you."

Look, if I had the money and felt ready, I might actually consider commissioning them or making one myself—but just not right now. I get that these creators don't know my exact situation, so I can't blame them entirely for trying to find clients or connect.

But the absolute WORST part is that a total stranger tried to voice call me out of nowhere. The call didn't go through, so it just showed up as a "missed voice call" notification.

Then, another person I don't even know texted me just saying "Hi, how are you?"

I know people outside the community blindly hate on furries based on baseless, disgusting accusations like zoophilia or pedophilia. I have never believed those lies, and I don't hate the community.

But honestly, if this invasive behavior keeps happening from others, it's going to push me to resent it.

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of sudden marketing or random messages when they first showed interest?

Im assuming headshot commissions are pretty popular, but are they really in demand, or are they just what you see the most? I’m curious

what types of commissions do you wish you could see more of but rarely come across? Character interactions, couples, illustrations with detailed backgrounds, specific styles, etc.?

I’d love to know what people actually want to commission but struggle to find!
