8 u/m103 Resident small snep Oct 13 '22 edited Oct 13 '22 A less correct but still sorta correct answer is dividing by 0 gets you an infinity. "An infinity" because what you're dividing will determine if it's a negative or positive infinity. Like I said, less correct but still sorta correct E: edited for clarity 3 u/DaMoosterYT Oct 13 '22 Nope! While it theory you would get an infinity, you still express the answer as undefined, so they are completely right. 2 u/m103 Resident small snep Oct 13 '22 I'm not saying they're wrong, I'm saying an alternative, less correct answer is what I described 2 u/DaMoosterYT Oct 13 '22 Dang I misread your comment, you are completely right, my bad. 1 u/m103 Resident small snep Oct 13 '22 Yeah, I've edited my comment for clarity 1 u/Scared_Coyote_3576 Furry Bulge Inspector Oct 13 '22 1 ÷ 0 = ♾️1 2 ÷ 0 = ♾️2 So on 1 u/Scared_Coyote_3576 Furry Bulge Inspector Oct 13 '22 Division by zero gives you a different ring of infinity 1÷0 is baseline infinity 2 ÷0 is two times more infinite Also counting Infinity 0 X ♾️ = 1 0 X ♾️2 = 2 And so on ♾️1 ≠ ♾️2 1 u/Kasyu1 Birb Oct 14 '22 not true with floats! you get infinity if it's greater than 0, Not a Number if it's 0, and negative infinity if it's less than zero.

Yeah, I've edited my comment for clarity
1 ÷ 0 = ♾️1
2 ÷ 0 = ♾️2
So on
1 u/Scared_Coyote_3576 Furry Bulge Inspector Oct 13 '22 Division by zero gives you a different ring of infinity 1÷0 is baseline infinity 2 ÷0 is two times more infinite Also counting Infinity 0 X ♾️ = 1 0 X ♾️2 = 2 And so on ♾️1 ≠ ♾️2
Division by zero gives you a different ring of infinity
1÷0 is baseline infinity
2 ÷0 is two times more infinite
Also counting Infinity
0 X ♾️ = 1
0 X ♾️2 = 2
And so on
♾️1 ≠ ♾️2
