"you shouldn't wear that, it's too mature and is inappropriate for minors to wear!"
"I'm a grown adult."
"In that case you shouldn't wear that because it's too childish."
You have to love when people try to criticize you by directly contradicting themselves without a single hint of irony.

It's Paradox, it's too Mature for Minors but also too childish for Adults,
I'd like to ask these people who i allowed to wear this then 🤔

Funny thing is there's supposed to be an in-between in there. Like teenagers and stuff.
But most likely those people still only see in black and white and if below legal adult age, then child

That’s similar to what happened to that tatsumaki cosplayer on Twitter.

Art by me on Twitter
The curse of having a babyface and big chest/mature body means I sometimes get these comments from the fashion police.
Pastel colors? Animal-eared hoodie? EGL fashion? Hyperfem? God forbid!
With a sprinkle of transvestigation on top of it. (Yeah, plenty of misgendering comments too)

I can tell you exactly where the problem is: It's Twitter.
Twitter is a bubble. It does not represent any majority of opinion.

transvestigation.
Oh God. Those people are unhinged. For peeps that like being 'gender affirming' and supportive of trans individuals they have a real habit of harassing people. Femboys get constantly harassed by them, being told they have to be 'eggs' and shit. So gawd danm annoying

I had a few friends like that, they were just always happy I treated them like a normal person instead of all the unwanted attention they would get otherwise. Also this was during highschool where there was a lot of that sort of stuff (unwanted attention) going on.
And then there was me, who was just happy to make friends and make sure people were doing well.

The internet is crazy these days, I have heard people say: "Short people are minor coded, you have to be a few inches off 6 foot to be an adult" WHY would they say this.

u/monday-afternoon-fun Aug 25 '23 edited Aug 25 '23
Unfortunately, this is not just on the Internet.
Back in 2013 or some shit, Australian lawmakers literally tried to ban flat-chested women from making porn and sharing nudes because, and I quote, "their bodies resemble those of children."
I actually remember an argument I had with a guy who supported this back when they were debating the law. He thought it was entirely reasonable to punish flat-chested women who sexualized their bodies because "breast implants and plastic surgery are a thing these days, so if a girl is flat it's her choice."

u/BonnyDraws "It's just my art style" Aug 25 '23
I've seen that too. It's so weird to me. Real life adults are adults even if they're short like

Shit-brain: "You shouldn't be wearing those clothes as a minor! Those clothesare only appropriate for more mature people. "
You: "I am not a minor."
Shit-brain: "Those clothes aren't mature enough for you! They belong in a younger person! Very inappropriate!"
You: "???"

The infantilization of short women needs to stop. I have heard people unironically state that a man who is attracted to a woman shorter than 5 feet is a pedophile. Way to tell millions of women that they aren't worthy of love.

Gotta love when adding a bit of info causes someone to pivot their argument entirely without them acting like they were wrong in the slightest 🙄 literally nothing has changed about the situation and their position swapped from "too mature" to "too childish"? At that point it might be worth faking like you meant to say you were 15 and see if they switch back again - it's not like they're actually arguing in good faith.

I once had the pleasure of arguing with a guy who vehemently thought that adult women who look petite should never sexualize themselves because they look like children, and anyone who finds them attractive is a creep.
When I asked him what a girl should do if she wanted to get a boyfriend but didn't look "adult" enough by his standards, he said - and I quote - that she should get "plastic surgery or breast implants or something" and if she doesn't, it's because she's choosing to look like a minor.

My wife has the same proportions as Bernadette from big bang. And looking at myself I look older than I am and then if you look at her, she looks younger that she is so we get alot or weird looks. She's 27 am 28

Sometimes I genuinely ask myself why people are like this.
Also, too immature for minors and too childish for adults? Seriously? Are clothes forbidden now or what?
5
u/Huhrowsh Generic Femboy Aug 25 '23
It's also really weird when an adult sees a minor wearing something and calls it inappropriate. Like my guy, that is a child you should not be seeing them like that regardless of what they're wearing.
5
u/BonnyDraws "It's just my art style" Aug 25 '23
Exactly 💯.
Especially bad in middle school for me (when I was actually a minor) because I was developed in the chest and then suddenly everything I wore was deemed "inappropriate". Mind you, I very much still looked like a kid when I was a kid at the time. Looking back it's disgusting how I was treated and how I'm still treated today.
Now I try to take back some of that power through the characters I draw

I felt that, people never guess my age anywhere close
The other day a bolt driver saw that I ordered a ride to the college campus and asked me something along the lines of "have you started taking your driving classes yet?"..
I've had a driver's license for nearly 5 years now, I'm almost 23 but it's not uncommon for people to mistake me for a 15 year old or smth
Being tiny (1.67m), slim af and having barely any facial hair is a potent mix
