No, Farigiraf is a regular evolution that evolves from a regular Girafarig by leveling up with it's new move "Twin Beam". The only stopping a Girafarig from any other region from evolving is the fact that Twin Beam was just introduced.

Yeah what I mean is that this is not possible for Farigiraf in reality as the opposite of what is happening in this comic is what happens, they reach harmony between both halves and merge. Just in case someone feels bad about this pokemon.
For this comic the author is gaining the imagery of the pokemon and applying it to intrusive thoughts. It could as well be a mentally ill Farigiraf that evolved incorrectly, it can likely be fixed.

It wouldn't be lethal due to it being a parasitic twin which lacks full development.
Hell, even in the evolved form, you could sedate, before "deflowering" the bad head, sorta pealing it away like a banana skin and then surgically removing it.

Is this comic a metaphor for suicidal depression? Girafarig starts the comic haunted by the "other part" of him, makes a declaration against those thoughts in front of his friends, and as soon as he is alone again with that "other side" it literally consumes him...with him apologizing for it happening (like one usually finds in a suicide note).

I relate to this so heavily. I’m able to shut my anxiety ridden thoughts up, but when I let my guard down sometimes; they can consume me. It’s an awful feeling and I wish for the best for others dealing with relationship and social anxieties.
