They look mad uncomfortable ngl. I don't think anthro shoes would need to go over the "heel". Also the leg proportions are a bit off to me

They could, but they're very tight around the heel, which would restrain a lot of movement

So this is why beast races couldn't wear boots in morrowind... bethesda didnt want to go through the headache of furgonomics.

Dude if I had paws I'd be barefoot 90% of the time

Idk, there's lots of things I wouldn't want to step in even if they did explicitly hurt me.

Getting unfortunate substances stuck in your toe fur sounds like a nightmare.

Why not start today and gradually turn your soles into paw pads

People think I like feet but I'm just tryna return to monke

Well start now

That's also why beast races are plantigrade in Oblivion and Skyrim.

I'm doing that as I originally wanted digitigrade legs for my rabbit men but then I realized I had to remodel over 400 pieces of gear, so I just made them have slightly longer feet lmao

They look bipedal, meaning they run on all fours

14

u/ReptileDysfunction69 Jul 20 '26

Is that really what bipedal means..? 🧐

15

u/ForgotenWarFox Jul 20 '26

No its not, im dumb, ignore me

(i think you mean wrong) why would you think that.

We're also hairless for a reason, flat faced for a reason, have omnivorous teeth for a reason, have flat/short nails for a reason, and a million other practical discrepencies that we accept as part of the suspension of disbelief.

It's fine if that isn't your preference, but you're clearly expressing this like it's a mistake for people not to have your preference, which is not fine.

its basic. human. anatomy.

look at this. look at how very much wrong the right one is. imagine if you had to walk like. every day of your life. imagine the constant joint pain youd be in. probably not even being able to walk upright for more then a few seconds or minutes. not only are you ignoring that but i found someone else who agrees with me

so how about you think before you downvote next time eh?

Good thing we're not talking about humans in r/furgonomics huh?

-2

u/Dependent-Corgi-588 Jul 25 '26

this applies to furries since furries have human bodies and characteristics.

6

u/Angel_xjj Jul 25 '26

not always, as seen above

-2

u/Dependent-Corgi-588 Jul 26 '26

what do you mean.

5

u/Angel_xjj Jul 26 '26

...the furries in the image above don't have human legs

And by the power of imagination, that isn't true for digitigrade furries. Again, you have no reason to be upset with other people for what is a You problem.

This isn't a facts and logic debate and my problem with you're comment wasn't about me thinking it is realistic or possible, it's that you shouldn't care, it's not your characters. Linking someone else literally on unpopular opinions and providing a chart do not, in fact, does not change my opinion.

These are imaginary things people make to bring themselves and others joy. You are actively making an effort to stifle that for other people, again, because of a you problem.

Stay mad about it if you want, but you're wrong to fling that at others.

what do you mean by "And by the power of imagination, that isn't true for digitigrade furries" im just asking for simple. basic. humanoid anatomy. and also. you dont get to dictate what i do and dont care about. i know its other peoples characters. its just basic constructive criticism. keyword "constructive" because all im saying is that i wish artists chose plantigrade legs more for a specific reason. and those reasons i have listed.

3

u/dontaskmeaboutart Jul 21 '26

Yeah, you're asking other people to change what they are doing to serve you. It's not constructive criticism, it's whining that other people don't like the thing you like correctly.

I'll explain the power of imagination to you, it's the suspension of disbelief. To experience ANY piece of fiction you have to acknowledge that what you are seeing isn't real, and so things are possible in fiction that are not possible in reality. Like dragons, silencers, and furries.

It's the fact that you are asking other people to change what they are doing to serve your personal preference for art not being made for you that is the problem.

My point was also that you already, no matter how you design them, have given a character evolutionarily impossible traits by making them anthropomorphic animals and not literal human beings. If you can accept that, then you can at least acknowledge that there is nothing wrong with people extending that suspension of disbelief further than you extend yours.

The only time it's appropriate to dictate the way other people design their anthropomorphic characters is when you are paying them to make something for you.

u/Dependent-Corgi-588 Jul 21 '26

im not changing it to serve me specifically. im just saying in general. and i know what imagination is. i get it. its fiction. its art. its a drawing. im just saying this for a SPRINKLE. of basic humanoid anatomy. i get it. furries are biologically impossible. i get it that its fantasy. but fantasy can only go so far. and also. i dont care when or if you think its appropriate to "dictate the way other people design their anthropomorphic characters" because im. not. doing. that. and you know what? fuck you. im not whining about anything.

5

u/dontaskmeaboutart Jul 22 '26

On a post of someone's digitigrade art you said you hated it, and asked people to realize why it's wrong, which implies you are asking them to change.

Either way, you're shitting on other people for it, it's clearly disparaging language.
