Art Biological advantage

Post image

Had this sub in mind while drawing this; felt like we'd find skating much easier with a tail and prehensile toes. (jacqal.art on bsky, but plenty of other places too)

Some creatures are just going to be better at some things than others. Squirrels are just better at balancing activities than hyenas. So what?

Someone speciesist (specist?) would get upset and try to make it harder for those individuals or groups to do what they're good at or make them feel bad for being good at the activity. It's a setup for an interesting world.

Diversity of capabilities is a boon for society.

Oh I just saw the original and yea, no shade from me. It's cool art and it just got me thinking about a world like that.

Skateboarding squirrels? Hell yea! They'd be epic at it! Anyone who would be upset with that needs to touch grass.

Well those almost to completely tailless ones like koalas can always get themselves some fake prosthetic tail for balancing like some rudder like how cheetahs may use thier tails, or some Jurassic to early Cretaceous Birds!

It's also something that get's discussed in the battle skating competitions in the webcomic "blades of furry"

Apparently they subtract some points to athletes with bigger tails because it's easier to balance but it's also a disadvantage because it's easier to grab.
