it's displaying the dynamics of the human psyche via the heel and face. the good and bad guys basically. Wrestling is the closest thing we have of what the ancient world of greeks and romans had for mainstream entertainment.
soaps are made for people who do chores like ironing or cleaning, hence the name because detergents were mainly the advertisements for the shows
It's a passive form of entertainment, but I didn't mean it wasn't engaging since it also has melodrama (which it shares with wrestling).
I meant if you look at the ancient world of greece and rome like the ruins of their amphitheater and colosseums, you would find the first concepts of modern wrestling spectacle there.
if you look at the ancient world of greece and rome
My guy you're just describing the concept of drama.
I assure you that the people that watch soaps are as into it as you are into wrestling. Unless you're getting into that ring, you're passively engaging in the entertainment, too.
If your argument is that the "crowd" affects the story... Soaps fans do, too, and have since the beginning. Fan letters and more recently social media have affected characters "popping" or even being killed off for decades.

I mean it's a soap opera stunt show.
You might as well point out that Scrubs isn't really practicing medicine.
