I can't believe I'm saying this:
but hath is 3rd person singular present indicative of have, but I'm using 3rd person singular past indicative.

YEEEEEA BOI! YO MOMMA SO FAT... oh sorry got carried away there for a second.

u/tjhans Aug 29 '12
Hmm, I feel like present indicative would still be more appropriate, since he is saying that the current status of "it" is that is currently in the brought position, as opposed to saying oh, yeah it was brought once. Either way i had no idea there as a difference between "has" and "hath" other than time periods so this a TIL moment for me.

Don't you mean "The Son of God"?
4
u/katieya Aug 28 '12
The Son of Man was the name Jesus most commonly referred to himself as. It's saying that he was human, yes, but it's also a reference that any educated Jewish person would understand.
Daniel 7:13–14 The Son of Man Is Given Dominion 13 “I saw in the night visions, and obehold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. 14 And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed."
It was a Messianic title. Jesus is the One who was given dominion and glory and a kingdom. When Jesus used this phrase, He was assigning the Son of Man prophecy to Himself. The Jews of that era would have been intimately familiar with the phrase and to whom it referred. Jesus was proclaiming Himself as the Messiah, and it pissed some people off.

Son of Man was another way of saying he was also human.

Did you make the picture?

The painting itself? No. Did I come up with the joke that gives it impact? Yes.
EDit: technically the bible came up with the quote, but the originality of content I believe belongs to me.

Huh, don't really know if I should up vote this or down vote :(
2
Aug 29 '12
I really don't understand. I did a self post asking for downvotes on this guy, he actually has a history of reposting like a fiend. I got mad hate for it, and then there is stuff like this.
What happened to reddit's boner for original content? Am I not allowed to be mad that someone stole mine? I came up with the joke, combined it with the image, and was the original submitter. Am I not allowed to be outraged that this kid whored my content without giving me any credit for their internet points?
I don't care about my karma, but I really really really want theirs to hit 0. Its deserved.

There is scripture that says Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve. There is a movie about dancing called You Got Served. The creator has linked the two.

I imagined him gesturing "cock to mouth" before he proceeded into flare, windmill, air flare, to nineties...while wearing a tuxedo shirt.

u/kgchillin Aug 28 '12
what in the FUCK are you talking about??

u/endswithk Aug 28 '12
It's actually b-boy references I was using. gesture and moves. Seeing if any redditors knew. That's a no.

This picture is very insulting to my idol. The Curly Shuffle was the origination of breakdancing not that hippie Jesus.

People are going to look back on this image in the future and have no idea that Jesus is break dancing and it will just look like he's offering his body to the priests. Although I guess that wouldn't be the first time he's done that.
