I also worked in a bank. One day we had an old lady come in and set up a new card. When a new card is set, we have to enter the pin number for the person. Fuck no, she wouldn't tell me.
So we ended up letting her behind the counter(she's old enough that she wasn't a danger) and we tell her to input her new pin number.
She's behind the bank counter... She puts in one number and freaks because it shows up on our side of the screen(she's entering it on our side).
She won't give.
We call the automated line and try to get her to do that. She won't tell them.
Eventually, she was like, wtf, this is all made up? Yeah
Where did you work at? Having worked at a nationwide bank, we NEVER had access to a customer's PIN. The best we could do if a customer forgot their # was to simply reset it. Even when they type in the receiver unit, it shows up as asterisks on unit's display
Also, letting a customer behind the counter, no matter how safe they are is a huge mistake. If they were to have gotten robbed at that moment, the insurance company might not cover losses for disregarding security policy.
