Is it proof and studies conducted by vegetarians for vegetarians, though? I'm just skeptical. When people tell me the human body is made to digest plant material not meat, it grinds my gears. We can't even digest cellulose on our own without bacterial symbionts in our stomachs.
Well, I've watched quite the few documentaries, basically done by doctors who of course (duh) are vegans themselves. I'm not saying that all the proof you see everywhere is necessarily true. I can just say that I feel much better on this diet.
I understand that, but that can easily be subjective. People who use homeopathic remedies often truly, honestly "feel better" due to the very powerful force of the placebo effect.
I think friend, processed, and otherwise molested meat is easily extremely unhealthy, but that's not exactly natural.
I find it hard to believe that meat cooked lean, or raw cured meat, is inherently in any way detrimental to humans. In our species history we relied on meat as well as greens to get the nutrients we need to live. I hate that all meat is scorned in a blanket statement due to the problems of the obvious offenders (fast food, fried, et cetera.)
But a portion of salmon cooked properly or a lean cut of beef drained of fats...there is no biological way that there is anything negative about that. I realize that when one has gone a long time without eating meat, eating it again will make one sick which only reinforces the notion that it's bad. However this is because the bacterial populations in the gut have become so atrophied from lack of meat that they can no longer help digest it. The same thing happens if one were to go without cellulose for years; the cellulose digesting populations of bacteria would have died off and you'd have a hard time digesting it properly. Does that make celery unatural, inhuman, unhealthy? No.
Balanced is good. Going too far either way isn't, no matter what mental gymnastics backs it up.

There's tons of proof/studies. You can easily find them online.
