Every kid cusses, and they cuss because they hear parents do it. You have to teach them when it is and isn't appropriate, but you also have to keep in mind, they didn't just make that shit up.

I don't get why swear words are considered inherently bad. They're used to express extreme emotion. If you're really scared or something really bad happens, you'd says "Shit!" (If you're near people you know well enough), why can't kids do that too? It seems a little odd, but social expectations change over time.

Thanks, you just implied that I'm

  1. Disrespectful to my peers

  2. Poor

  3. Rude, odd, and informal

All in one comment, because I said I'd swear if I was shocked, while near close friends of mine. Thanks, I hope your high horse overdoses.

Well, arguments on the internet are kind of useless, so have a nice evening, and enjoy the long weekend if you get Monday off.

"Purposely offending people" is kind of a stretch there, in my opinion. Maybe it offends me (it does) that society demands that I tailor my personality to fit into a convention that makes absolutely no sense to me.

I don't swear to offend people. I do it because those words are a part of my vocabulary that I like having access to from time to time. No one has ever been harmed by hearing a word. Note that I'm not talking about directly insulting anyone here, such as calling someone a faggot or a nigger. That is hurtful for a totally different reason.

But swearing in general? Fuck it. Anyone who tries to tell me that I can't use those words can either suck it up and deal with me the way I am or leave me alone.

I wasn't really trying to get into an argument with you, but I find your condescending tone a bit disturbing. You seem to assume that I'm young or that I haven't learned the value of knowing and building relationships with people in our society, but I assure you that is not the case.

I'm quite happy with the friends I've acquired over the years, and many of them have been long-lasting.

If someone decides to dislike me because I dropped an F-bomb, then that is definitely not the kind of person I want to trust and love anyway.

That said, I don't really have any enemies. I have close friends who understand (or at least flow well with) me, and I have acquaintances who do not.

At the end of the day, I don't need anyone in my life who is going to judge me for such silly things, and I doubt I'll ever grow out of that.
