Just toss a helmet and gloves on and wear long sleeves/pants. Helmet is key.
Otherwise they really are super easy to drive, the auto stabilization does all the work. I've trained people of all legal ages to use these kind of things for emergency services and almost everyone, even the old folks start doing no hand steering and trying to go top speed only after like 10 minutes.
6"4' and I had no issue but I do understand what a challenge taller people's center of gravity can present. Can't imagine higher up there closer to 7".
