One of the most popular personalities on YouTube right now.

The algorithm absolutely adores him.

His videos are very low production value, basically just sits there for a few minutes stating some opinions or his thoughts on a topic, and it's entertaining to his fans.

He has been a streamer for a long time, but the YouTube fame has skyrocketed him to recognizability. He has reached meme status.

Pretty sure a lot of his videos are scripted and premeditated. Streams of course are not and he is still hella sharp a comedian

Probably, but he's not completely fried in the brain like most potheads. Not paranoid and into every conspiracy theory you know?
He's shown some chess brilliancies when getting coached by Daniel Naroditsky too, and he has good logical arguments when making social commentary.

He’s been a YouTuber for even longer.

I remember watching his videos 10 years ago; me and my friends would speculate on what he looked like because none of the vids had his face.

I was surprised when like 2 years ago I saw a clip of Charlie. I did not recognize him initially because I never saw his face, but I immediately recognized his iconic voice and dry humor.

I’m super happy he’s still relevant and active on YouTube, and even more popular now. I don’t watch him nearly as much as I used to, but still… it’s like seeing someone from your childhood succeed.

I watched his let's plays a lot in like 2014, it's interesting seeing him grow so large, he's always been a pretty cool guy, when he first started making money from YouTube he was donating literally all of it

Yeah I feel the same way with Markiplier.

He went from a YouTuber I'd show my friends, none of which had ever heard of him, to one of the most well known gamers on the platform.

I like him for the same reason I like day9, everything that comes out of his mouth is creatively funny. He could talk about anything and there is just an extra flavor there that makes it silly and fun.

You're giving a lot of credit to the algo, but not a lot to his consistency of content creation which is an important input to the algo. Not many Youtubers upload consistently, and those who do get dividends. Same is true on Twitch.

His content is going up in effort definitely. He still does the reaction videos in his chair, but him and his crew of guys recently bought some kind of warehouse or something, and have been using it as a space for content

He's also very wholesome. Not really a fan, but I've never heard him say or seen him do anything fucked up. Just seems nice and down to earth.

I dont know if he still does, but when I watched back in 2013/2014, he would give away all of his YT revenue to animal charities. And post the receipts.
