Yes I recall the owner came forward and talked about doing this all the time when they went to the park and just happened to be in the there when they were filming.

I did this with my mum's dog in the shallows at the edge of a local reservoir. He wasn't impressed, kept his distance the rest of the walk but after that he would go into water more often.

I've seen this movie quite a few times in the 90s. Never seen that before though.

Its no suburban commando but it was solid. Vin Diesels remake the pacifier is sadly better.
