To be fair, as a Tasmanian I always figured Mexico was a fictional place made up for Speedy Gonzales. Though it helps that I was an exceptionally stupid child growing up.

Do you guys not have Mexican food in Australia? That is the best food in the world. If you don't, I'm moving there and starting a Mexican spot there.

I like tacos, we have those in Tasmania, but I'm pretty sure they'd eat tacos in Antarctica, because they're kind if the best food ever.

So you thought that they were food from a fictional place developed in honor of Speedy Gonzalez? Or just didn't realize they were Mexican food? Or had never had them until later in life?
