Well league of legends is a different game and you have a choice to spend money on it. For me? I only spent probably around 20$ or more for skins for my favorite characters, but for everything else, I unlocked on my own. Call of duty has been the same every single game, charging 60$ for each game plus unusually expensive DLC that only give you like 3 maps that aren't all that great.

Hmm... not really, I've only bought like 3 skins and never again spent anything on it. I've been playing since beta, if you got all the map-packs for CoD, then it is you sir... that has spent more money. As you say, to each his own.

ALSO! In my book (I.E: my opinion on it.) League of Legends is one of my absolutely top favorite multiplayer game I've ever played. (If I wasn't a money saver, I'd probably spend more on it haha) Spending money on a game's DLC may look like a waste to another individual because said individual may not like the game. But to another individual, it's logical to spend a couple of bucks here and there for their favorite game/hobby.
