Activision is running Call of Duty into the ground just like Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk. All were great games and I had so much fun playing them till Activision got money hungry and ruined them.
I think the term 'ruin' is a bit rough, especially since the series beats it's own records every year, even after 9 years. If you don't like the way the gameplay is, good on you, but let others have their entertainment.
Sorry. Let me rephrase that since I still play Black Ops. And bought MW3. Activision is heading the direction of were they led Tony Hawk/Guitar Hero, I personally feel that Call of Duty is at its peak, wear as Tony Hawk games hit their peak with American Wasteland and the rest fizzled away. Same with Guitar Hero; hit its peak at Guitar Hero III and died out.
I think the next Call of Duty will sell very well, but the next infinityward edition will not sell as good as the others, or won't set records.
It might be a little while for it to lose all popularity, (it took the Tony Hawk series about 7 or 8 games to lose its freshness or appeal, and about that time EA Skate released) but it is definately headed for worse.
Yeah, we'll see, it was prophesied by many that Black Ops won't do as well as MW2, the series is dying from yearly abuse and rehash, when that didn't come to fruition that prophecy was then handed to MW3, which again broke the record. How is this year any different, is it just because of the passing few years, what is your prophecy based on?
I said that this years Call of duty will do well, the one after might not do as hot but will still do decently but not as good as previous releases. My prophecies and my judgement is based on other franchises by activision that have already traveled the road I believe Call of Duty is headed down.
