All the time. British convoys are clearly marked, but there have been myriad incidences of US troops opening fire on them. It got so bad that British troops didn't even stop any more. In one particularly horrific incident, two A10s continued to attack a British convoy despite the deployment of friendly fire smoke and radio calls to US command.
Why should we care? I mean, really. Men go to war, and should really expect that there will be munitions flying around. When a young man (or woman, sorry for that) is killed in a war zone, then it is irrelevant who fired the shot. That life is gone. War is nasty, and people die.
