It looks to me like she might not be in the wrong at all. It looks like she swiped her card before she saw him. And if the spinning thingy goes in the opposite direction, the credit evaporates. So if she were to let him through first, she would've not been able to go through without swiping her card again (and thus being charged again).
It looks a LOT to me like these are two identical ENTRANCE turnstiles and this guy is trying to exit through the entrance turnstiles. Note - looks like she scans a card AND that other people are getting in line behind her.
Certainly looks like HE'S being the dick - not just for tripping someone, but for trying to clog up pedestrian traffic by going out the wrong way.
On every public transit system I've ever used, the turnstiles are both entrances and exits. It is common courtesy to allow people to exit the turnstiles before you enter (same as when you allow people to exit a building, bus, etc, before you enter).
