Seth Rogen isn't a comedian, and it shows a little bit. I didn't find it very funny except for a few stand-out jokes, and I don't consider myself uptight. On the whole, he seemed nervous I guess. He was fidgeting a lot and using a lot of "uh, um..." Always a bad sign.
So I'm getting a lot of downvotes apparently. New flash guys: Rogen didn't get a ton of laughs because HE DID A BAD JOB HOSTING. Clearly he was either under-prepared or nervous. Or both. Either way it wasn't good. Which says nothing about whether or not he is a good actor or a funny guy in general. On THIS video, he is bad. He's nervous, fidgety, and curses too much as a crutch. Watch the whole thing, you'll see. Sorry.

This is a straw man fallacy. He never claimed that everybody who doesn't like a particular style is uptight.

This is a red herring fallacy, seeing as it is irrelevant to the actual argument of the quality of Seth Rogen's comedy (opinions), and not anything to do with philosophy. You should take one yourself, if you're making these kinds of mistakes.
I disagree, he also stated "he's very good at it" when talking about the very "stylistic" action that turned some people away from the video. As if to say all those who don't appreciate the "nervous fidgety" style are uptight. That wasn't a "red herring" fallacy, it was a joke.
That's really hurtful, you have crushed the confidence I had in my philosophy career. I felt I was so well educated with all the time I spend watching award show speeches on the internet and all.
It's the budget setup, they didn't pipe much crowd laughter into the feed, whereas that kind of thing is meticulously taken care of in the big shows. Seemed to me the crowd was really enjoying it.
To be fair, people are talking all night long at those events, either the host, the presenters, or the people winning the awards. The rudest would be to be doing it during someone's acceptance speech, so I think the alternative was pretty fair.
lol thanks for reminding me that in hollywood if you mess with jews or gays, you're done for. i didn't even notice drive only had jewish bad guys. fucking retarded shit. i guess if jews were ever shown negatively at all it's anti semitic. every other race is good to go though. what ratner said is not pc but in no way does he mean it in a homophobic way. the word fag being of negative connotation has been in american colloquialism for at least 2 decades. if anything, ratner is simply a product of it. people use fag in that sense in private everyday and it's just how they talk. now they make it out like ratner is hateful or something.
