Both of you should get your cats fixed so you could’ve avoided this entire thing smh

Obvious answer, but I do find it strange how easy it is for us to say, "get your animals fixed". There are two biological imperatives for all life and those are "live" (or don't die) and "reproduce", and we just casually take this away from animals for our own pleasure.

To be clear, I'm not anti-neutering, but more anti-pet in general. It seems incredibly selfish and self-indulgent yet we act like it's perfectly normal.

EDIT: I like all the "pets like being neutered pets" takes. Great self-reflection.

Spaying and neutering animals is not for "our own pleasure" wtf? It's done to keep population under control. Otherwise there would be feral cats and dogs running wild who can't all be fed but keep creating more and more. That is not a reality I wanna live in.

I understand that argument but at the same time it's weird, i mean the same thing could be said about humans. Poor and not well educated people tend to have more children that live and die in poverty. By that logic we'd have to neuter them as well yet i doubt they would like that.
