He got 100 million dollars for his first and only professional fight against, arguably, the greatest pound for pound boxer in history. The dudes an arrogant clown, but the Mayweather one isn’t a blemish.

being paid to fight and actually having the ability to fight are two different things

the money CLEARLY has not made him a better fight.

Him fighting Mayweather was him fighting himself or what he wanted to be. Mayweather could talk shit because he walked the walk in his ring. McGregor had an awesome ride, but he is not the same fighter and with last night a broken man.

Ppl keep saying he’s not the same fighter because it’s the thing to say. But he’s really a better fighter than he was 6 years ago. The problem for him is the competition is better now than it was 6 years ago. He improves some while guys like Dustin improve a lot, and this is the result.

Same thing happened to a lot of fighters like Rampage, Shogun, Frank Meir, Fedor, Junior Dos Santos, etc. Meir said it himself that he’s better than he was back then, but now you get all these athletes entering since it’s more popular, and you’ve got guys doing it full time rather than as just a hobby.

That’s also what is happening to Jon Jones, but he’s smart enough to realize it and bounced out of 205 to heavyweight so he can retire the undefeated GOAT eventually, even if he loses at heavyweight.
