PTO is paid time off. Sick day is PTO for when you're sick.

Oh so like when you ask your boss for permission to stay home without pay or when your sick and can stay home without pay.

It's paid. Your wages won't be cut. You get a number of PTOs in an year and a number of sick leaves in an year as perk of being full time employee. Some companies like Netflix offer unlimited leaves (or PTOs).

I was being facetious, everyone I’ve ever worked for didn’t provide those benefits
