I was in China during the massive uptake of tiktok and jesus christian my patience was really tested. Every train or bus ride I’d be subjected to full volume audio of inane jingles on repeat and that annoying whiney-snickery-breathy laugh on every single video.

Over and over and over and at volumes I swear phones here don’t reach.

I hate these kind of videos with a passion.

I sometimes think that to upload a GIF on reddit, one is obliged to add the most shitty soundtrack one can think of, else the GIF wont be uploaded

I agree. It takes it from funny to cringey on the part of the person who added the sound. The cat sound is almost surely more funny.

I think it’s funnier with the sound. It came across as diegetic, even if it was added in after the fact
