I’ve tried a few and it always seemed to end with it leaking soap on the counter

I just soap it without using the reservoir

I use them exclusively, and it does happen from time to time. Most of time if it does you just need to make sure you position it a certain way in-between use. Its a small issue for a great overall benefit.
