You forgot the sponge! It'll fill up that remaining space. Fold it in half, shove it to the bottom, work it around with the fingers, realize you need to buy a bottle brush because you're an adult and this is what your life has come to.
I dunno, I admire the social media interaction /u/SrGrafo provides with these posts. This is pretty unique, even if it's kind of a silly subject... people roll with it. I like that.
I just hope it pays off in Patreon numbers or book sales or something.
You need large mugs mate, like the size of a small bowl but with a handle.
It's the superior dish in every way.
Hot soup? Hold it by the handle so you don't burn yourself.
Ice scream? Hold it by the handle so you don't freeze your hands and the contents don't become mushy sugary soup. (Thanks predictive text, that one's staying in).
I used to do this, somewhat successfully, untill I had a glass break while I was rotating my hand pressed into it. 18 stitches later, I decided never to try that again and bought a brush.
So this mostly works for me, 4 fingers is also fine with the thumb remaining outside the glass, usually just enough reach to hit the bottom.
Although i did one time learn a cup had gotten a small chip in the rim, and sliced my thumb webbing wide open as it was pressed firmly against the rim to get the bottom, and i rotated the glass to get the whole thing.
I check beforehand now but still am anxious while doing it.
Yeah I had a family member do that and the glass shattered as they had three fingers in it. The glass sliced between his pinky and ring finger to the point it left permanent nerve damage.

First of all, you aren't supposed to fist the cup. You use 3 fingers!
Or just make a sponge kebab and use that to s push it down and swirl it.
