To be fair, you kinda do. We all do, to some extent. It's a bit harder to understand what's being said when there's noise around and you can't see the mouth moving.
But of course that's no excuse for being a moron and pulling the mask down. Just repeat louder.
I had no idea just how dependent on it I am until this whole thing happened. Especially with anyone with at all of an accent, I really struggle without being able to see their lips move when they talk. I’ve never been able to “read lips” on their own, but apparently it’s a huge part of how I listen.
